Phoenix Heller, Print Graphic Design

Prior to my life as V.P. in Charge of Everything at my own firm, I worked as a graphic designer, art director and marketing assistant in-house. Phoenix Heller Print Graphic Design, I’m proud to note, has now been in successful existence for just about two years. We’ve worked on design and marketing projects for large organizations, such as the international Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty Co. and local design firms such as Barkada Creative. We’re looking for alliances with Allianz-size companies and design firms.

Learning is something I’m always doing in earnest. I have one design and technology degree, another in advertising, and I embrace new tools or technologies that can help me deliver a quality and timely project to you. Other things you might want to know may best be answered by the following NSFAQs (Not So Frequently Asked Questions).

Collage, Vertically Oriented

Q. Why do you prefer multi-page documents?

A. Multi-page pieces like hefty brochures and catalogs give me a giant puzzle to organize and put together. To me, it’s like playing Tetris and, under a ridiculous deadline, being able to shift the right pieces around so they lock in place easily and solidly... “even-if-there’s-another-square-block-coming- down-fast!” There’s satisfaction in that and it’s actually fun work for me. Organizing isn’t the be all and end all, however. I like to add a little warmth and personality into the design mix if it’s appropriate to the project and brand.

Your piece has to work wonderfully and holistically. My design philosophy, stated in grown-up terms, is that:

“Form should be functional and beautiful. A great designer should structure layouts that flow harmoniously from page to page, in a
 logical, interesting and captivating way.”

Q. Why print? What’s the matter with Websites or other
electronic media?

A. I have nothing against Websites. Some of my best friends make their living designing them. It’s just that print gives me so much more control over the final product. Hand me something that has substance and earth-based dimensions to design versus Website wisps on the Internet and I’ll hand you back a dynamite printed piece with confidence knowing that the finished product will remain precisely as we envisioned it.

Q. What do you mean by “I’m more than a one-night stand?”

A. This statement simply means that I enjoy developing long-term relationships with clients versus being hired for a single print design challenge then vanishing. Familiarity with your product or service, your processes and likes and dislikes, allows me to be up to speed instantly on any new project for you. You can leverage this knowledge to save time and money. I can also support the growth of your company by creating and/or maintaining a gorgeous and professional brand image.

Q. Have you ever considered “farming?”

A. Absolutely. I love it when other designers “farm” work out to me. I can dig in and be an organic extension of their excellent work on any project.
